Unrigging Our Elections: States Take Steps to Stop Fraud

Stop the steal: As Americans start voting in the first presidential election since 2020, many are wondering if states have done enough to ensure the integrity of the ballot box.

  • “While we are generally in better shape nationally than we were last time, much depends on what state you live and vote in,” writes Heritage Senior Legal Fellow Hans von Spakovsky.
  • Heritage’s exclusive Election Integrity Scorecard shows that several states, including Nebraska, Indiana, and North Carolina, significantly improved their scores by advancing best practice guidelines included in the scorecard.

Election interference: But, as Heritage President Dr. Kevin Roberts notes, Big Tech isn’t giving up trying to rig the election. Conservative candidates are routinely censored on platforms like Google because they don’t align with their radical agenda. Watch his comments here.

Iran Inches Toward Nuclear Weapons Breakout

Middle East: As Iran continues to move closer to the first test of a nuclear bomb, the United States must decide what course of action to take to defuse the situation.

  • “Regardless of the outcome of the November election, the United States must equip and empower its regional partners and allies to confront Iran,” writes Robert Peters, research fellow in the Allison Center for National Security, and Nicole Robinson, senior research associate in the Allison Center.

First-Ever Pacific Islands Strategy to Counter China

Red alert: America hasn’t had a comprehensive policy guide to countering the China threat in the Pacific—until now.

  • Heritage just released a 30-point strategy to advance American interests in the Pacific.
  • “This national strategy will advance a more secure, prosperous, and free region for both Americans and Pacific Islanders alike,” writes Research Assistant Andrew Harding.

Build Back Better? Look to Texas, Not Biden-Harris

Industrial restoration: Amid failed Biden-Harris administration policies, the manufacturing ecosystem in Texas flourishes. Perhaps the rest of the nation could learn a thing or two from the Lone Star State.

  • “Conservative policies in Texas are increasing real wages, growing the economy, and improving national security,” write Robert Greenway, director of the Allison Center for National Defense, and Rep. John Carter, R-Texas.

‘The Big Guy’

Conspiracy: Heritage recently hosted New York Post columnist Miranda Devine, whose new book about Biden family corruption—“The Big Guy: How a President and His Son Sold Out America”—was just published.

  • Following up on Devine’s previous book, “Laptop from Hell,” her exposé reveals how three-letter government agencies collaborated to shield Joe Biden and his family from justice.

YLP Grad Goes Undercover at Harvard

Mostly peaceful: Elliott Detjen, Harvard student and former Heritage Young Leaders Program intern, got an education in the “great intersectional struggle” of Palestine.

  • Detjen went undercover to attend a “teach-in” on campus titled “Palestine 101” aimed at recruiting more students to the Palestinian cause.
  • “For an event touting its exploration of ‘all dimensions’ of a complicated issue, PAL 101 tried to leave me with some rather dense conclusions,” he writes.
