Every day, we hear from people all over the country — including those who are living with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia and their caregivers who suffer sadness, stress and isolation as they watch their loved ones fight this disease. Last year alone, we received more than 200,000 calls and online chats to our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) from people desperate to find resources to help them cope with this devastating disease. We provided space for hundreds of local and virtual support groups, caregiver classes, and other care and support resources.
A generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous has pledged to match every gift — up to $120,000 — if we can raise that same amount by October 8. Their gift will support Alzheimer's research, while your donation can go 2X as far to accelerate research and help provide care and support. This donor, whose husband was diagnosed with the disease three years ago, spoke with us about why they chose to give to the Alzheimer's Association.
"We support the Alzheimer's Association because it makes a difference in so many lives. The focus of providing care and support, research and advocacy is a winning combination. It's important to support the Alzheimer's Association so that families can get the support they need now and so that future generations will hopefully not have to deal with this disease."
One more day. That's all the time we have left to make the most of this powerful opportunity. Don't let time run out. Please give now while your gift can be matched 2X to fuel our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
Your donationn will strengthen our efforts to advance Alzheimer's care, support and research. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising global research initiatives, your gift makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias in your community and across the world. Thank you for your continued support.
