“Trump’s Project 2025 agenda is projected to harm working families in states such as

Arizona, where households could see annual energy costs rise by over $360 and more than 24,400 jobs are expected to be lost by 2035.”

29 Days To Go

Hey voters – you ready to vote again? I am! We have some of the most qualified Democrat candidates running who are ready to lead Arizona into the future. Since the primary, it has been a collaborative effort on all fronts for me and many others to help uplift candidates up and down the ballot across the state. Dollars, time, and energy have poured into all the important races. My legislative colleagues have been helping each other in the swing districts, knocking doors and raising money to flip the legislature. In LD 5, we have also been partnering with our county candidates, most of them running against extremists, to ensure public safety, education, and democracy remain secure.

Canvassing in LD 23 for Brian Fernandez, Mariana Sandoval, and Matias Rosales.

Big. Election. Energy.

As the election begins, please remember that you hold the power to create our future. You are the hiring and firing manager of our leaders. You decide whether chaos continues to spread or if Arizona rejects extremism once again. Will government interfere in your life, or will it work to improve it?

And to make it easy on you never fear, voter guides are here! These guides are an invaluable resource to help you navigate your ballot, take the guesswork out of decisions, and empower your vote. If you’re reading this outside of LD 5, connect with your LD Democrat group to get yours.

Please reach out with any questions about the election or your ballot. I am here to help you. And I thank you for all that you have done the past months, from reading this newsletter to donating to candidates, to knocking doors or making calls. Every effort creates a ripple effect that could help secure a crucial Democratic victory.

With kindness,

Sarah

Arizona & the Clean Energy Boom!

A huge recent boost to Arizona’s economy comes from the Biden-Harris Administration's implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), celebrating its second anniversary since being signed into law in August 2022. Thanks to the IRA, Arizona has become a key hub for clean energy growth, especially electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing and solar power production. Companies like LG and KORE Power are setting up shop in the state, creating thousands of jobs and helping us lead the transition to clean energy. These projects not only address climate change but also strengthen our local economy.

Solar panel manufacturing and installation have ramped up, benefiting from our sunny climate and federal incentives. This growth solidifies Arizona’s standing as a leader in renewable energy.

As of August, the IRA has helped
create 18,130 new, good-paying clean energy jobs in Arizona and spurred $11.81 billion in clean energy investments across the state. These investments ensure a greener, more prosperous future for Arizona. But we must elect the right people to see it through—and that includes members of the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC).

Arizona is poised to make significant sustainable leaps and economic gains with this immense amount of climate funding. I am working in collaboration with multiple partners in and out of government that will ensure this funding reaches the communities it needs to - specifically tribal, rural, and low income. There will be programs available for weatherization and energy efficiencies to utilize in your home.

I will make sure to keep you up to date with what money you might be able to use as these different programs come online in the months ahead.

We have an incredible opportunity at hand to transform lives and ensure our desert state remains economically viable and livable in a rapidly changing world.

Corp Comm Energy

Curious about your energy bill and it’s increases?

Wondering about what the future of renewable energy looks like in our state?

The Corporation Commission is responsible for making the decisions that directly effect consumer pricing and energy choice.

Here are my picks for the ACC:

Ylenia Aguilar - Water Board member

Jonathan Hill -  Scientist

Joshua Polacheck - Foreign  Service Officer

Aguilar-Hill-Polacheck is the ACC ticket that will ensure Arizona has a sustainable and reliable energy future that is affordable for all.
