If this can happen in Texas, it can happen anywhere.

John,

If this can happen in Texas, it can happen anywhere.

Yesterday, a salon owner in Dallas named Shelley Luther was thrown in jail just for opening her business.

When the judge demanded that she apologize for her “selfishness,” she responded, “Feeding my kids is not selfish. I have hairstylists that are going hungry because they would rather feed their kids. So sir, if you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I am not going to shut the salon."

For that, she was thrown in jail for seven days, and you can
watch her courageous testimony here. ([link removed])

Texans aren’t happy, and neither are we. We’re not about freedom for some -- we’re about freedom for all.

That’s why Mark Meckler is in Dallas today to a protest outside the Dallas County Courthouse to free Shelley.

It’s also why we’re continuing to provide a platform at OpentheStates.com for re-open groups across the country to organize their protests and fight back against draconian lockdown orders.

Even though some states are starting to open up, we won’t rest until all Americans -- including salon owners! -- have the freedom to return to work and provide for their families.

As the Kansas coordinator for OpenKansas! said, “We started protesting for freedom for all in Kansas, not just freedom for some. We will continue protesting until we have freedom for all!”

Our efforts are working. Not only are states starting to open up, Texas Governor Greg Abbott just yesterday decided that salons and barber shops could re-open for business on Friday.
