Friend,
Today is National #NursesDay — and there’s never been a more important time to express our gratitude for the immigrant healthcare heroes caring for our communities every single day.
Immigrants make up one-sixth of our nation’s healthcare workforce, and there are nearly 20 million immigrants currently working in essential services to keep communities fed and healthy as our nation responds to the coronavirus pandemic.
We are so thankful for everything these incredible individuals do for our communities. Will you join Americans all over the country in thanking these heroes today?

President Trump recently signed an executive order that temporarily cuts legal immigration by halting the issuance of many green cards, which will result in more family separation. It’s clear that he is hoping to both distract us from his Administration’s handling of this global health emergency and use this crisis as an excuse to push through his cruel and extreme anti-immigration agenda by unfairly blaming immigrants.
But even as the Administration attempts to demonize immigrants, the vast majority of Americans know that immigrants are our family members, friends, coworkers — and the heroic nurses and healthcare workers on the frontlines caring for our communities every day. Their home is here.
Together, we can reject this fearmongering and stand up and celebrate the many contributions of our immigrant neighbors. Make your voice heard right now!
This #NursesDay, show your gratitude to immigrant nurses and all essential workers! Share this graphic with your networks now.

This pandemic has pushed nurses and healthcare workers to the limit, and we’ve seen them continually rise to the challenge with extraordinary bravery and strength. We cannot thank them enough for the vital work they are doing to protect us all.
