Today, the PCCC and organizations representing millions of voters are urging Congress to make voting in November safe, easy, and reliable despite the coronavirus threat by including proposals like Senators Amy Klobuchar's and Ron Wyden’s Natural Disaster and Emergency Ballot Act in the next relief bill.

Like Elizabeth Warren’s plan before it -- which tens of thousands of PCCC members also support -- the Klobuchar/Wyden plan prioritizes national vote-by-mail and includes safeguards for voters and protection for the integrity of the election.

While Speaker Pelosi vows that the next coronavirus relief bill will include funding for vote-by-mail, Mitch McConnell so far says hell no. To win this fight and protect voting rights in November, we’re going to need massive pressure at a national and local level.

Sign the petition to Congress: Include funding for national vote-by-mail and a robust election protection plan such as the Klobuchar/Wyden and Elizabeth Warren proposals in the next coronavirus relief bill.

Proposals like the Klobuchar/Wyden plan and Elizabeth Warren’s plan prioritize national vote-by-mail while ensuring that in-person voting is safeguarded for those who need it. They also remove barriers that have been used to suppress voting, and protect the integrity of the election.

The Klobuchar/Wyden Natural Disaster and Emergency Ballot Act provides funding for national vote-by-mail, gives voters increased time to register to vote and request mail ballots, guarantees ballots postmarked by Election Day and received within 10 days will be counted, and ensures 20 days of early in-person voting.

Warren’s plan includes nationwide vote by mail, 30 days to early vote, no voter roll purges, an end to voter ID requirements, and includes $4 billion to states for the transition, additional funds to USPS, and hazard pay for poll workers.
