importance of electing Democrats to state legislative offices in order to
ensure the protection of our democracy.



While we fight to win a Democratic trifecta at the federal level, we cannot
forget about the races downballot where legislation can have a more immediate
and direct effect on communities. But we need volunteers to get others excited
about voting for Democrats downballot too. Daily Kos has partnered with Sister
District to get out the vote for state legislatures and make it easy for you to
volunteer.

Not only do state legislatures pass state election laws, but they also draw
their own congressional maps, resulting in gerrymandered districts that favor
the party in power. That means we need more Democrats in state legislatures if
we want fairer maps. To do that, we need volunteers to talk on the phone with
folks and remind them voting for your state legislature is just as important as
voting at the federal level.
