John, last month I had the honor of visiting the White House as President Biden took a huge step forward in combating the gun violence epidemic with new executive orders.
In a minute, I’m going to tell you why this is so important, but first I need to ask: Will you support our team of educators advocating for gun safety by donating $25 right now to build on this victory? >>
President Biden isn’t just talking the talk here. The executive order he signed – focused on tackling ghost guns and creating effective ways for schools to conduct active shooter drills without traumatizing students – is a massive step forward.
But John, I want to take a minute to reflect on how it felt to be in the room.
I was so honored to meet with members of Congress, the team from the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, and other movement leaders – people with the power to make change. But they see Teachers Unify the same way.
Since day one, we’ve made it a mission to give teachers a spot at the table for the movement to end gun violence. And now, we’re at one of the most important tables.
Now we’re going to fight to keep our spot at these tables and maintain this incredible momentum. We’ve come a long way in this fight, and we can’t slow down.
This work isn’t easy, but it is expensive. It requires innovative trainings and conferences, and other resources that add up. Unlike the gun lobby, we don’t have millionaires backing us, but we do have a group of gun violence prevention allies powering our movement. That’s what we need more of – right now.
So please, will you join our team of grassroots supporters by contributing $25 to ensure every school and community is safe from gun violence? >>
Endlessly grateful,
Abbey Clements, Co-Founder of Teachers Unify
