There are 441,531 active registered voters in our district — and as a candidate, my goal is to talk with as many of them as possible before they cast their vote.

That's why every campaign has what's called a Field Team. And their job is to call, text, and knock on voters' doors.

Right now, our field team is knocking thousands of doors and calling tens of thousands of voters. Sometimes, even when the Packers are playing.

It's the kind of people power we need to win this campaign. It's also not cheap.

TV ads, mail pieces, postcards — they're all nice. But the research shows they just don't beat the power of a conversation with another person when it comes to turning out voters.

Heck, I've seen it myself on the campaign trail when talking to undecided voters and even dyed-in-the-wool Republicans. The caricature of me as a Democrat and doctor who provides abortion care doesn't stand up to the reality of a real conversation.

I'm so proud of the massive grassroots organizing operation we've built to have those real conversations with voters. Now, we just need to make sure we can keep them going for the next 30 days.
