ACTION SPOTLIGHT

Defend our Climate and Stand Up to Big
Polluters

The Biden administration has made major
strides in tackling the climate crisis over the last four years –
but this progress is now under attack by big polluters and their
climate-denying allies in Congress.

Your members of Congress need to know you’re counting on them to
defend lifesaving standards to reduce climate-busting pollution
from power plants and vehicles, block efforts to roll back clean
energy solutions passed under the Inflation Reduction Act, and
more.

Urge your lawmakers to stand strong
against anti-environment assaults. ( [link removed] )

CAMPAIGN UPDATE

Is Your Toilet Paper Making the Grade?
Check NRDC’s Latest The Issue with Tissue Scorecard

The results are in – and for the sixth
year in a row, Procter & Gamble (P&G) failed the toilet paper
sustainability test, scoring Fs across the board on Charmin and
its other paper products according to NRDC’s 2024 The Issue with
Tissue report.

In contrast, Georgia-Pacific, which
began selling 100% recycled content toilet paper, and
Kimberly-Clark, which announced new sustainability standards last
June, earned passing grades for the first time. American
bathrooms are stocked with toilet paper and tissues sourced from
the Canadian boreal forest, one of the world’s largest and most
ecologically important intact forests.

As one of the major purchasers of
pulp from the boreal forest of Canada, P&G must change its ways
if we are to have any hope of preserving this irreplaceable
forest and combating this climate crisis.

Tell Procter & Gamble to stop flushing
our forests. ( [link removed] )
