Dear Friend,
I wanted to make sure you saw my invitation to join our livestream this Wednesday. I'm excited to share that we have a fantastic panel of experts for you: Executive Director Ben Jealous, Legislative Director Melinda Pierce, Chief Energy Officer Holly Bender, and Board of Directors President Allison Chin.
We're living in turbulent times. Our nation is reeling from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, and we're facing rising threats from extremist plots like Project 2025 – it's a lot to hold all at once. Join Sierra Club experts to make sense of the moment, learn what it means for our climate and future, and get involved.
🖥️ Livestream: A Movement on the Move: A Conversation about the State of Climate Advocacy in 2024
📅 Date: Wednesday, October 9

During the hour-long webinar, we will look at the state of Climate Advocacy heading into 2025: the wins, the challenges, and the ways we can all get involved. Together, we'll celebrate climate progress like the Inflation Reduction Act's home energy rebates and grants, wins like the pause on pending Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) exports, and the historic milestone that in 2024, clean energy sources like wind and solar are expected to generate more electricity than coal for the first time ever.
We'll also discuss the need for community resiliency in light of extreme weather and climate disasters like Hurricane Helene, fight back against the extremist policies of Project 2025, and learn steps we can take to protect our democracy.
We have made enormous strides in the last few years, but we're up against a lot and there's work to be done. We hope you'll join us this Wednesday as we gather to make sense of the current moment, talk about what this all means for the climate movement, and chart a path forward together. |
