John,
There's been a lot of talk about me, my campaign, and why I decided to run for U.S. Senate, so I wanted to set the record straight as to why I am doing all of this.
I apologize in advance for the length of this email and if you only read the first half of this email, let me sum up my why: I am running for the U.S. Senate because I love this country and I fought for it for 25 years in war zones all around the world. But the values I fought for are at risk, and I'll NEVER give up on the greatest nation on Earth.
If you know me, by now you have probably heard me tell the same story: America saved my life.
When I was just four years old my parents barely escaped Vietnam just hours before the fall of Saigon to a communist regime.
By the grace of God, we made it out alive and found a new home in America.
And from day one, I was taught not to take our newfound freedoms for granted.
I graduated from the US Naval Academy, and became a Special Operations officer, a deep sea diver, and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician.
During more than two decades in the US Navy, I served with US and allied Special Operations units in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia, and other hazardous duty locations - these were certainly not “pleasant tourist destinations.”
Serving our country was the honor of a lifetime. Now, I’m running for U.S. Senate because I know my service isn’t over yet.
For nearly three decades I abided by an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
But now, we have politicians who are giving up America on a silver platter.
Tim Kaine has been putting our Commonwealth and our country LAST for too long, and it’s time for a new generation of leadership.
I believe in freedom above all because I’ve seen firsthand what happens when you lose it.
Now, the political elite are on a mission to silence me because I’m about to become the biggest thorn in Tim Kaine’s side.
This will be my most difficult mission yet, and I’m counting on YOU to join my A-team. Please, if you’re sick and tired of the same career politicians, will you join our fight today?
