Fast-track coming for energy, mining, aquaculture, quarrying and infrastructure projects.

A major milestone has been achieved with the Fast-Track Approvals bill, releasing 149 projects with significant national and regional benefits.

New Zealand First campaigned on and delivered as a coalition commitment a Fast-Track Bill. We recognised the bureaucratic sludge and red tape constraint that has been an anchor on New Zealand’s ability to deliver infrastructure and boost productivity.

Friend, Shane Jones has been spreading the gospel of growth across the regions, and these projects will work to meet the government's goal of delivery.

  • 22 renewable electricity projects to supercharge our generation capacity.
  • 11 mining projects that will extract coal, gold, iron sands and mineral sands.
  • 8 quarrying projects to help enable our infrastructure projects, and those in the future.
  • 43 infrastructure projects that will result in at least 180km of new road, rail and public transport routes.
  • 44 listed housing developments will enable up to 55,000 new homes.
  • 7 aquaculture and farming projects will strengthen primary industries and local economic partnerships

They will deliver measurable benefits to regional and national GDP, highly-skilled and highly-paid jobs in the regions, and other associated benefits like the retention of regional infrastructure.

The projects were chosen by Cabinet, with an open application process run by Ministry for the Environment, analysis by officials, an independent assessment and recommendations process by an independent Advisory Group.

If you agree with our mission to build housing and infrastructure, boost our energy resilience, increase our economic value, create jobs, and lift wages then share Shane’s post and like his page for updates.
