John,
15,000 scientists sent out an SOS – a "warning to humanity" that if we
don't stop polluting, our planet is doomed.
The facts are terrifying: species are going extinct at 1000 times the
natural rate. 90% of the Great Barrier Reef is dead or dying. Oceans are
so choked with plastic that fish are addicted to eating it.
But scientists have JUST discovered something else – a kind of miracle
that could save us. Protecting just 1.2% of the Earth’s surface for nature
would be enough to prevent the extinction of the world’s most threatened
species! And with them, life on earth can recover.
Our governments have already promised to protect more than a quarter of
the planet, so we know it’s possible. But no other global movement is
championing this incisive, miracle recovery plan!
It’s up to us. If 10,000 of us chip in the cost of a cup of coffee or
more, we can make this brilliantly targeted proposal famous, face down the
polluters and poachers, and campaign to get leaders to save the most
endangered parts of the planet at the Global Summit on Biodiversity...just
weeks away.
Chip in now – let’s bring this miracle recovery plan for our planet to
life.

For years, campaigning groups have focused on protecting huge swathes of
land and ocean – 30% by 2030, 50% by 2050. Science has shown how important
that is, and in the long-run, we have to do it.
But an analysis just published in a scientific journal shows that TARGETED
expansion of protected areas would be enough to prevent the loss of
thousands and thousands of the mammals, birds, amphibians, and plants that
are closest to disappearing.
From Argentina to Papua New Guinea, the team of researchers identified
thousands of sites that should be prioritised for conservation in the next
five years to prevent imminent extinctions of animals and plants found
nowhere else.
Now all that’s left is to convince our governments to agree – and pony up
the cash to make it happen.
That won’t be easy. There are deeply vested corporate interests lurking in
the shadows, challenging every move to protect the planet.
Momentum is on the side of conservation after governments agreed to
large-scale protection. But with a critical meeting in weeks, the most
urgent sites need prioritisation, and fast. So we need to make this plan
world-famous, put our expertise in fighting corporate lobbyists to
work...and make it happen.
Saving nature won’t happen overnight. And it might need a miracle. But
we’re the ones to deliver it – can you chip in to help this miracle
recovery plan come to life?
