NumbersUSA In The News

Our thoughts on the VP Debate, Candidate Comparisons, and more...

But first...I invite you to take a few minutes to catch up all of the unsent actions remaining on your board.

Here is a roundup of recent NumbersUSA media hits, many of which you can listen to as you pull out your Fall decorations. Happy weekend, everyone.

Harris’ visit to the border

Eric Ruark helped Newsweek explain why the Harris campaign is trying to convince voters that her immigration plan would stop the border crisis. "Voters trust Trump over Harris on immigration by 10 points, according to September polling from ABC/Ipsos," Ruark said. "Harris is clearly trying to convince voters she somehow opposes the very policies her administration put in place."

Listen to Bobby Gunther Walsh and Jim Robb discuss a Rasmussen poll of likely Pennsylvania voters, who say illegal immigration is the most important problem for the next president to solve. See also: Jim’s article in the Elsewhere in the journal Limen (p.21) about Hispanic voting patterns.

In the Washington Examiner, James Massa poured cold water on the “tough” promises Vice President Harris made at the border: “Harris’ plan will call for more resources for the border, which many believe would be used to facilitate the entry of a minimum of 500,000 illegal immigrants every year, not to secure the border from fentanyl trafficking.”

I really enjoyed my conversation with Adam McManus (guest host of Generations withKevin Swanson) this week. Listen here [or here]as we cover Harris's actual role as a prosecutor against illegal immigration in CA, her current role in the BIden administration, her NUSA grade score, the failed immigration senate bill, Joe BIden's comprehensive vision for legal immigration, a history of various federal Acts, Roy Beck's connection to the Jordan Commision, Trump's wall and his Remain in Mexico policy, and possible solutions to high levels of illegal immigration including E-Verify. @09:09 - 49:15.

Economic impacts of immigration policy

Listen to Jim Robb speak with Lars Larson as discuss how there is no two-way free labor market in America but only a one-way market that is “free” for people to come to the U.S. to take jobs, but U.S. workers are not “free” to seek better jobs in other countries. See also Jim's outstanding Newsweek op-ed on the subject. @0:00 - 6:50.

Eric Ruark explains how mass immigration socializes costs and privatize profits with Mary Walter (the David Webb Show on Sirius XM Patriot Ch. 125). They discuss what is happening in Springfield, OH - how the aliens are getting to Ohio, the impact of their presence on things like housing and social services, and the exploitation of workers by employers.

Watch Roy Beck’s interview (8 minutes) with Adam Shaw and read Shaw’s accompanying article. [Also here, here, here, here, here, here, here] They examine the recent job figures that Americans lost more jobs in the past 12 months than foreign born workers acquired. Roy appears in text and on video. He talks extensively from his book Back Of The Hiring Line, on black wealth and how mass immigration has impacted that wealth.

Jeroslyn JoVonn repackaged Roy’s interview for Black Enterprise: “Every time you reduce immigration, the livelihoods of Black families and Black men increase.”

Listen to Roy narrate an audiobook preview of his book.

Mabinty Quarshie interviewed me for her story about President Trump’s statements about immigration and Black workers in the Washington Examiner [Also here]: “Beck called for a better immigration system that ‘reduces the numbers to a point where Americans and immigrants alike can thrive and communities don’t have to be overwhelmed’ as a key move to increase support for immigration.”

VP Debate

Listen here [or here] to Tom Roten Show and me as we recap the VP debate, discuss the failed senate bill, declining border encounters, the moderators’ misinformation, the story of the Gumballs video, and how E-Verify is a litmus test for taking illegal immigration seriously. @4:42 - 52:23.

Watch or listen to a shorter recap here with Mike Ferguson in the Morning [Or here, here, here, here, here]. @1:42:53 - 1:55:14.

Candidate Comparisons

James Massa released a statement on the Texas Senate race between Colin Allred and Ted Cruz. "Border security could determine the outcome of this Senate race — and control of the entire chamber," said James. "Texans who are concerned about immigration should tune out the TV ads and compare Cruz and Allred's actual records."

News reporter Spencer Lindquist analyzes the immigration voting record of AZ democratic Rep. Reuben Gallego. Gallego has voted for amnesties and recently seemed to change and vote with republicans on non-citizens voting. Spencer includes Gallego's F grade from NUSA.

Environmental Impact of Mass Immigration

A federal judge this week held the Department of Homeland Security accountable for creating an “unsecured the border almost overnight” and violating the National Environmental Policy Act. To better understand what that’s all about, read Eric Ruark’s article published in Limen, a journal of the International Network for Immigration Research, of which NumbersUSA is a member. Excerpt:

Obviously, immigration has led to greater demand for roads leading to more runoff from paved surfaces; caused much higher levels of traffic and resultant pollutants; contributed to urban sprawl and the loss of wildlife habitat; increased energy demand; strained water supplies, especially in the western states; and it has led to greater greenhouse gas emissions. All of this is because of federal actions on immigration policy….

….Not only has the federal government never prepared an EIS [environmental impact statement] on immigration as required by NEPA, it has provided no adequate explanation for why it has not done so.

Thank you for all that you do,
