It’s National Nurses Day, y’all -- and, now more than ever, all the nurses on the frontlines of our health care system are in my thoughts. Nurses are part of an incredible medical community who protect our lives every day, and in the midst of a pandemic, amazing nurses in our communities are providing vital care for COVID-19 patients as well as the many other folks who rely on them.

I survived two life-threatening pregnancies, so nurses have a special place in my heart.
