PBS' "Asian Americans:" One Week Away!
[link removed]
We are one week away from the premiere of "Asian Americans," the most ambitious television chronicle of the Asian American story in the United States. It premieres on PBS during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month on May 11 and 12, 2020. "Asian Americans" is a production of WETA ([link removed]) Washington, D.C. and CAAM for PBS, in association with the Independent Television Service (ITVS), Flash Cuts, and Tajima-Peña Productions. It is a five-part history series that explores the evolving identity, contributions, and challenges experienced by Asian Americans. Watch a preview. ([link removed])

#BeSeenBeCounted

With the Asian Americans Advancing Justice affiliation, we kicked off the #BeSeenBeCounted grassroots social campaign to inspire and motivate Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to participate in Census 2020. Many of our most vulnerable AAPI communities have been undercounted for decades, putting our communities at a disadvantage. With COVID-19 throwing a wrench in census outreach, it’s crucial our communities show up more than ever to be seen and counted, and get the funding, resources, and political representation our communities need.

How to join: Post your selfie video or image in response to one of our prompts on Instagram or another social channel, and nominate three friends to do the same in your caption with our #BeSeenBeCounted hashtag.
Join 88rising for a Global Livestream Festival
[link removed]

Advancing Justice | AAJC is partnering with 88rising, a musical platform and label for Asian American and Asian artists, for their “ASIA RISING FOREVER Global Festival." The festival is a four-hour video livestream featuring Asian American and Asian artists available on YouTube, Twitter, and the SiriusXM homepage. The goal of the livestream is to celebrate Asian Americans and demonstrate unity during a difficult time for many, both due to the pandemic as well as the xenophobic hate many are experiencing. Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC thanks 88rising ([link removed]) for supporting our mission and their tremendous support throughout Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

National Voter Registration Day
[link removed]
We’re excited to once again be part of a national effort to strengthen our democracy by registering voters on September 22, 2020, or National Voter Registration Day. First celebrated in 2012, National Voter Registration Day has grown into a 50-state holiday where thousands of organizations and volunteers organize to ensure our family, friends, and neighbors are registered to vote. Since it was first celebrated, nearly 3 million Americans have registered on the holiday. Check out the new website and sign up today. ([link removed])
