America's nurses are heroes, especially now.
Nurses take more risk -- and spend more time -- than any other profession in tending to COVID-19 patients and Americans who may have the disease.
It's the nurses who staff testing centers in Seattle and across the country, sticking swabs into the noses of worried Americans.
It's the nurses who move in and out of ICU rooms to draw blood, obtain samples, provide oxygen, and assist doctors with intubation, ventilators, and more. It's the nurses who tend to patients' needs as they work to help thousands recover and survive.
And it's often the nurses who make the final moments for the COVID-19 patients who perish more comfortable -- or simply ensure that they don't die alone.
On #NationalNursesAppreciationDay, please join me in thanking our nation's nurses by making a donation to the American Nurses Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund.

Your donation today will go directly toward:
Providing direct assistance to nurses
Supporting the mental health of nurses - today and in the future
Ensuring nurses everywhere have access to the latest science-based information to protect themselves, prevent infection, and care for those in need
Driving the national advocacy focused on nurses and patients
Please take a moment to reflect on all nurses do for our country -- and then stand with them in the fight against the novel coronavirus by making a donation to the American Nurses Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund today.
