Trump-aligned dark money groups are spending nearly hundreds of thousands as you’re reading this to prop up their toady Nick LaLota – because they know he’s toast without it.
This is not a sign of strength - it’s a sign of weakness. How many other incumbents are spending desperately right now to try to hold onto their seat?
Not many. It’s because Nick’s scared and going to every right-wing group he can find, hat in hand, promising his unending loyalty in exchange for keeping his no-show job. Democrats can do better than that. Help us fight back >>
Yes, it’s a sign of extreme weakness that they’re spending nearly three quarters of a million dollars propping up an incumbent before Labor Day. But it also shows what we’re up against. Trump and his obedient Speaker Mike Johnson are going to stop at nothing to try to save one of their own. Flunkies gonna flunky, right?
A lot of things suddenly make a LOT more sense. Like, why would Nick LaLota help torpedo a bipartisan border security bill led by a conservative Senator? Because he was told to.
Why does he break his promises to us? Because he was told to.
Now those same special interests Nick’s offering a bailout are coming in to try to help him save his seat. Don’t fall for it. It’s not Nick’s seat. It belongs to the people of Suffolk County. They deserve someone who’ll keep their promises.
