John –
You may have heard about Mitch McConnell's $22.5 million investment to
defeat us in Michigan, but I wanted to weigh in personally about what this
means for our race.
First and foremost, I've heard from a number of people that maybe they
think we're going to win this race because this is Michigan and Democrats
win in Michigan.
Um, no.
Michigan is a swing state, full stop. And just because it's swung to
Democrats in the last election or two, it can swing right back. It was not
too long ago that Trump won here once before – by just 10,704 votes.
And if you need further evidence of that - look at the McConnell super PAC
buy to beat us.
Mitch McConnell is many things, but he is no fool. He is not going to take
$22.5 million and light it on fire. He could spend that in a lot of other
places, but he chose to spend it to defeat me.
And that's because they think they can win here.
He's right.
They can win here.
Mike Rogers could win.
But that will not happen if we have the resources to respond to this
McConnell ad buy.
That's why I am turning to you. Because emails like this are a single
greatest source of fundraising for our campaign at this point.
