Dear NRDC Action Fund
Supporter,
As if we didn’t need more proof of the radical threat posed by a
second Trump term, JD Vance referred to climate change as “weird
science” and refused to say it’s real during Tuesday night’s VP
debate.
Vance’s comment is all the more outrageous as communities across
the southeastern U.S. are reeling from the devastating impacts of
Hurricane Helene this week. We must stop him and Donald Trump
from getting anywhere near the White House.
Election Day is one month from today:
Tuesday, November 5. A month from tomorrow, what do you want to
be able to say you did?
I’ll tell you my answer: I want to be able to say that I did everything I
could do to defend our climate and defend our democracy.

As an election volunteer, you have opportunities to:
* Write letters to infrequent voters
encouraging them to vote
* Text voters in key states to make sure they get to the polls
* Counter misinformation and give people the details they need to
cast their ballots
We’re not going back. Vice President
Harris used her tie-breaking vote in Congress to pass the largest
climate investment in U.S. history. Now, we have a chance to
raise our climate ambitions even higher.
A month from now, when we give Vice President Harris that
promotion and send her a Congress chock full of leaders who
believe in climate change, we will build on the progress we’ve
made.
But we need all hands on deck to realize
that future. In the next month, we need to contact as many voters
as we can — and we have a plan for that. Pick at least one
