Dear John,
Central Appalachia, which includes Southwest Virginia (SWVA), has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. A coalition of grassroots organizations and mutual aids have banded together to tackle disaster relief in the area and into the region. We encourage you to support relief efforts by purchasing items off their Amazon Wish List [[link removed]] and donating to their Venmo @carecollectiveofswva. I just sent my donation and I hope you will too. For updates on how you can support, please follow Patchwork Kinfolx [[link removed]] a grassroots community organization focusing on marginalized communities in SWVA.

Tonight is the Commonwealth Dinner-- a critical event that funds the work of Equality Virginia for the remainder of the year and the year ahead. Every donation sustains our policy & legislative advocacy work and community engagement programming, and we know we have our work cut out for us in 2025.
After you've made your donation to Care Collective of SWVA, I hope you'll check out the items in our Silent Auction or purchase a $5 raffle ticket for a chance to win $1000. All funds raised during the Silent Auction or Raffle are not only tax-deductible but support programs like Lobby Days and Transgender Information & Empowerment Summit. Thank you to all the small business who donated items for the Silent Auction!
