KEEPING OUR COMMUNITIES SAFE

I attended the Upper Norco Bluffs Emergency Repair Project groundbreaking ceremony earlier this week. I helped secure $3 million in federal funding to go along with $1 million from Riverside County to stabilize these bluffs and protect Norco homes from Santa Ana River erosion. I am thankful for the city of Norco, Riverside County, the Corps of Engineers and all stakeholders for their quick response to this critical project.

EXPANDING CANCER TREATMENT

I toured the City of Hope cancer treatment center here in my hometown of Corona. I was proud to secure $700,000 in federal funding for new equipment to expand outpatient care here in Corona for cancer patients throughout the region. I'm incredibly thankful for the extraordinary care the City of Hope provides for those battling cancer.

Monday was a great day in Palm Springs at the opening of Phase II of the Homeless Navigation Center. I secured $2 million in federal funding for the facility, which along with investments from the state, County of Riverside, and the city of Palm Springs will help deliver resources for the homeless population in the region.

SUPPORTING LOCAL MANUFACTURERS

I was happy to have House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Jodey Arrington join me on a tour and meeting with Lubrizol Life Science Health in Corona. Lubrizol employees nearly 200 people here to manufacture life-saving medical devices.

TALKING TO JOB CREATORS

Image

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of providing a legislative update at the Greater Coachella Chamber of Commerce legislative breakfast. As a former small business owner, I know our local job creators face a number of challenges and opportunities every day. I continue to work hard in Congress to provide policies that allow them to grow and thrive.

I had a great visit at the Rancho Mirage Library and Observatory along with Mayor Steve Downs and members of the Library & Observatory Foundation. What a wonderful resource for residents interested in dreaming about their favorite stories or galaxies far away!
