Friend, this is a longer email than I usually send, but I hope you'll stay with me because it might just be one of the most important emails I send this year.

For the past 12 years, Ted Cruz and his policies have harmed Texas families: He’s supported a ban on all abortions, tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act, fought to cut Social Security and Medicare, and attempted to overturn a free and fair election just because he didn't like the outcome. From podcasting three times a week to jetting off when Texans were in danger, Ted Cruz has made it clear who he works for – and it's not us.

I first ran for Congress in TX-32 to better serve the North Texas community where I was born and raised. Wanting to bring us honest and pragmatic leadership, I defeated a 22-year Republican incumbent with a large coalition of Texans who were ready for change.

Friend, I am running this campaign to finally retire Ted Cruz because I know we are ready for change and I know we can do it.

Ted Cruz barely won his election last time around, and a recent poll dropped showing me one point ahead: 45-44. I know I have what it takes to win, but campaigns are expensive. Corporate PACs and special interests are propping up Cruz's campaign with millions of dollars. That's why I am personally reaching out to ask you to make your first donation to push back, mobilize enough voters, and bring some much-needed change to Texas.

Will you please donate to my campaign to defeat Ted Cruz and virtually guarantee that we defend the Senate against extremists like him?
