Long hours. Overflowing hospital beds. Supply shortages. Tensions with management. Trying to cope as their patients get sicker, and countless innocent neighbors are taken from us too soon.

South Jersey's nurses -- and nurses across the country -- are facing working conditions unimaginable to most of us. The personal sacrifices they are making each and every day to keep the rest of us healthy are truly heroic.

Their work has always been vital to our communities, but this pandemic has shined a light on just how valuable our nurses really are.

Every year at this time, we take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible contributions of our nation's nurses. Their presence in a hospital room can be a source of comfort for our ailing friends and family. They take care of us in so many ways -- from checking our vitals to being the friendly faces we need to see during some of our darkest and most vulnerable moments.

That's why this year, I'm working with my team to compile stories about the nurses in our supporters' lives -- that includes the nurses you know, friend! So please, share your story about a nurse who has impacted your life today, and we'll share some of our favorites with you soon.
