Email from Tarrant County Republican Party   DONATE NOW to give us the resources to win in November Battleground Texas We've received reports that voter registrars for the radical left group Battleground Texas (BGTX) have allegedly conducted voter registration in an illegal manner. It has been widely publicized that Battleground Texas has been working to register voters in high schools. During a recent event at Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School, a BGTX voter registrar allegedly told a volunteer that he "needed to meet his quota to get paid." This is a very concerning allegation, especially considering that under Texas law, it is illegal for deputy voter registrars to be compensated for registering voters. It is a Class A misdemeanor to either be compensated for voter registration, or to provide a quota of voter registrations for payment. Under this code, both the individual and the organization responsible can be held liable for violating the statute. What exactly is Battleground Texas? While it claims to be nonpartisan, it is anything but. On its website, the organization expressly says that its goal is to make Texas a swing state (to elect Democrats). Its board is comprised of Democrat politicians and activists, including Democrat Congressman Joaquin Castro. The group receives many donations from liberals in coastal Democrat states. This organization bent on turning Texas blue by infiltrating high schools, is funded by out-of-state leftists. As we said earlier, a BGTX voter registrar is alleged to have claimed that he was illegally receiving compensation for voter registration. This raises the question - what is BGTX spending its money on? We can't know exactly. However, according to their 2022 Form 990, the organization spent almost $500,000 in that year alone on wages to non-executives and non-board members. This is strange for an organization with the purpose of registering voters in Texas because voter registrars aren't allowed to receive compensation. AG Paxton is already investigating voter registration groups for potential illegal activity. Perhaps he will add Battleground Texas to the list? .
