Email from Rep. McCaul Standing With Our Partner and Ally, Israel On Tuesday, our partner and ally Israel endured an attack of almost 200 ballistic missiles launched from Iran and a terrorist attack while fighting Iranian proxies. Just days after Hamas massacred 1,200 people in Israel on October 7th, the Biden-Harris administration let the United Nation’s missile and long-range drone embargo on Iran expire. This decision allowed Iran to freely supply missiles and drones to their proxies and U.S. adversaries without international restrictions. Since then, Iran has directly attacked Israel twice and Israel continues to fight Iranian proxies in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq. This past April, Congress enacted my bipartisan 21st Century Peace Through Strength Act with tools to counter Iran. One of these is the Fight CRIME Act, which mandates sanctions on Iran’s missile and long-range drone program. Despite this being signed into law, President Biden and Vice President Harris have not imposed sanctions provided in my legislation. I urge the administration to implement these mandatory sanctions immediately. The Biden-Harris administration should be focused on putting maximum pressure on Iran and its proxies – not pressuring Israel to accept one-sided ceasefire deals. This November, it is time to bring back American peace through strength. Read more here. Demanding the Biden-Harris Admin Stop Violating Federal Immigration Laws President Biden and his “border czar,” Kamala Harris, refuse to collect DNA samples from all illegal immigrants that Customs and Border Patrol agents arrest, charge, convict, or detain. Legally protected whistleblowers revealed that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to violate the DNA Fingerprint Act of 2005, which requires the collection of DNA samples from every immigrant encounter. This dangerous policy decision hampers law enforcement efforts to stop violent crime. I joined Senator Chuck Grassley and 31 of my colleagues in sending a letter to President Biden and Vice President Harris demanding they enforce our long-standing federal immigration laws. In the last year, DHS missed three opportunities to collect DNA samples from the illegal immigrant who murdered Rachel Morin, a Maryland mother of five. This should not be controversial. Their failure to gather biometrics from immigrants who cross our borders illegally puts American communities at risk. Read more here. Boosting Domestic Semiconductor Manufacturing Semiconductors are a key part of our daily lives and the backbone of America’s national security. That’s why I wrote the Chips for America Act – to ensure they are made in the United States. I am proud the Building Chips in America Act has been signed into law. This piece of legislation will expand my Chips for America Act, create well-paying American manufacturing jobs, and bolster U.S. national security. Time is of the essence; we can no longer rely on other nations for this critical technology. ICYMI: Rep.
