Chris and I will talk more in detail about the Ohio Senate race, but here’s what you need to know about it at a glance:
- It’s the most expensive Senate race in the country. GOP groups have spent over $80 million on ads in Ohio, and the NRA just launched a seven-figure ad buy targeting Sherrod.
- Recent polls show Sherrod with a razor-thin lead, and Cook Political Report says this race is a toss-up.
- Sherrod’s opponent is a millionaire self-funding his campaign. He opposes a minimum wage, wants to take away affordable health care options, and supports a national abortion ban.
- Sherrod is an unwavering advocate for working people. He was integral in passing legislation capping the cost of prescriptions for people on Medicare, and he led efforts to save hundreds of thousands of Ohioans’ pensions.
Election Day is a month away, and our event for Sherrod is on October 8th -- the same day early voting begins in Ohio.
