Banning guns at the polls is a commonsense step that Congress and every American who loves democracy should be able to agree on right now.

Will you add your name to my petition calling on Congress to protect poll workers and voters by making every polling place a gun-free zone?

Dear MoveOn member,

No one should be intimidated when working or casting their ballot at the polls. Yet in 33 states, it is still legal in some capacity to have guns in polling places.1

That's why my organization, Common Cause, has been taking bold action to protect voters and poll workers by pushing states to outlaw guns at the polls. Just this year, we helped pass laws restricting guns at polling places in New Mexico and Massachusetts.2 And while these were two major victories, more can and must be done.

As voters gear up to head to the polls, it's time for Congress to take swift action and put an end to this intimidating practice by making EVERY polling place a gun-free zone once and for all.

Will you add your name to the petition and join me in calling on Congress to make polling places gun-free zones?

Tell Congress: Make every polling place a gun-free zone!

No matter what you think about gun safety laws, banning guns at the polls is a commonsense step that Congress and every American who loves democracy should be able to agree on right now.

And with political tensions running high, it's more important than ever to ensure our polling places remain free from suppression and fear.

Add your name now to demand that Congress ban guns at polling locations.

It should be a no-brainer that allowing armed individuals at polling places sends a clear, chilling message of intimidation. Not just for voters, but for the dedicated public servants who work at the polls.

Make no mistake: Our democracy works best when we all feel safe and empowered to vote. With your help, we can make that a reality nationwide.

Click here to sign the petition calling on Congress to take steps to ensure that every American, no matter where they live, can vote without fear. And then share with three friends to help spread the word.

Thanks for all you do.
