We hope you had a great week. This past week we closed out September and welcomed in Spooky season (too early?). We’re looking forward to a busy October, continuing to serve our local community and delivering support wherever we can. We also want to wish all of our Jewish communities across the district and the state who have been celebrating Rosh Hashanah a sweet and prosperous new year. L’Shanah Tovah!

Honoring Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day

 

At the start of the week, we honored the mothers, fathers, and families of fallen servicemembers on Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day.

 

We must always show these brave families our appreciation and recognize their and their loved one's service to our nation.

 

A September of Assisting You! 

 

We are proud to share our casework team’s hard work assisting neighbors across Burlington, Mercer, and Monmouth Counties through issues with federal agencies. In September, our office returned $329,333 and closed 286 cases for our community!

 

We look forward to continuing to help our neighbors resolve issues with federal agencies as best we can.

Happy Birthday Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst

 

We are committed to addressing the needs of the men and women serving in uniform at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and across the world. This week, we are excited to help celebrate 15 years since the Joint Base became the nation’s only tri-service installation!

 

From advocating to make the Joint Base more resilient to natural disasters, passing legislation so drinking water is free of toxic chemicals, and supporting projects like an overpass over Route 539 and improving road safety, we will continue to support the tens of thousands of servicemembers and families who live and work there, as they selflessly serve to protect our nation. As Ranking Member of the House Armed Services’ Military Personnel Subcommittee, Congressman Kim is focused on making sure our military community is looked after, from comprehensive healthcare to affordable childcare.

Today we celebrate the benefits of American manufacturing and the New Jerseyans creating products and new technologies every single day! It is our honor to serve the amazing manufacturers who call the Garden State home. From passing the CHIPS and Science Act to prioritize American manufacturing with good-paying jobs and critical tech investment, to the Inflation Reduction Act that incentivizes clean energy production so we make the next generation of great technologies here at home, Congressman Kim is hard at work for our local manufacturers.

The Start of Filipino American Heritage Month!

 

This month we help uplift the incredible impact of our local Filipino American communities. Our nation is strongest when we honor the diverse backgrounds, histories, and cultures that make us who we are. 

 

Let us lift up the stories and lives of Filipino Americans across New Jersey, and all they’ve given our nation!

 

Bringing Reliable Transit to Our Community

 

This week, a $3.8 billion federal grant agreement was executed for the Hudson Tunnel Project! With the crucial support of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Congressman Kim is proud to help turn promises into continued progress. The Gateway Project will have a profound impact on New Jersey families for generations to come and help bring reliable transit and economic security for millions from New Jersey and throughout the East Coast.

At the end of September, we were of course excited to share our monthly Service Spotlight! John is dedicated to helping his local community, from regular community trash cleanups to miscellaneous and impactful service with HomeFront, a local organization that works to meet everyday needs from housing to food.

Welcoming Students to the Capitol!

 

Last week, we welcomed students from Rutgers University who brought with them a set of great questions about government, service, and how to stay engaged politically. 

 

It is always special seeing New Jersey students at the Capitol and talking about showing up, staying engaged, and delivering for our local communities!

Do you know a young, aspiring computer scientist? Registration for the 2024 Congressional App Challenge is open! The challenge is an incredible annual opportunity for local middle and high school students to show off their STEM skills.
