#AllOfUS Campaign Gains Traction with New Members, Video Launch
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following its launch last week, a coalition of faith, civil rights, business and immigration organizations continues to build support by adding new members to the alliance, garnering media attention and launching a new video in support of immigrants and their contributions.
“Immigrants and native-born Americans have always been on the same team, driving American innovation and economic growth,” wrote Laura Collins of the George W. Bush Institute — an #AllOfUS founding member – in a San Antonio Express-News opinion piece published yesterday. “While this crisis has required different sacrifices, we will have success following the same formula — working together. When America is recovered, we must continue applauding our heroes without discriminating against their origins.”
The opinion piece, along with a new video, marks the second week of the #AllofUS campaign, which launched on April 29 with a six-figure ad buy across a number of states to make the case that all Americans, including immigrants, are essential to COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. And, over the last few days, the buy expanded to the DC market.
In addition to yesterday’s op-ed, coalition members have been featured in media outlets including Univision and The Hill, while several #AllOfUS founding members have published opinion pieces in The Baltimore Sun, Medium and others, with additional pieces expected in the coming weeks.
Since the launch, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, New American Leaders, the Asian American Christian Collaborative, Bread for the World and the American Business Immigration Coalition have joined existing coalition members like Postmates, Stand Together, UnidosUS and others in supporting the effort.
“As a marketplace platform that connects and empowers people from all walks of life — to the tastes, scents, and products that power our communities — Postmates is proud to stand by the immigrants who make our meals, our deliveries, and our collective efforts to flatten the curve, possible,” said Vikrum Aiyer, Vice President of Public Policy & Strategic Communications of Postmates, addressing the importance of having a diverse coalition advance such an important message. “From supporting immigrant food workers, to offering apprenticeship training programs for undocumented workers, to filing amicus briefs with high courts — it’s going to take #AllofUS working together to win the moment and continue to defend America's highest ideals.”
