John, the furlough scheme is protecting millions of workers from redundancy. Everyone knows someone it’s helping.

But this protection is under threat. The Chancellor said this morning he wants to “wind down the scheme” while another senior Conservative has insultingly suggested that people are “too willing to stay at home”.

This is wrong. This scheme is protecting families and our economy for the long term.

Ending it too early would be a disaster for millions of families, businesses across the country and our economy. With schools and nurseries closed, it’s also a vital lifeline for many parents.

Yesterday I called for the scheme to go on for longer, and to ease off gradually, so people can get back to work safely. Today I’ve made the case on TV and radio, online and in the papers.

Now, I need your help. Will you back our campaign to protect 6 million jobs John?

I'll add my name  ➜ <[link removed]>Thank you in advance for your support.

Best wishes,

Acting Leader of the Liberal DemocratsPS: If you don’t normally join campaigns or share things, this is the time. Millions of jobs are at risk if the scheme is ended early. Please feel free to pass this email on to anyone you know who might be worried about furlough ending soon.
