The past week saw protests from frontline workers who demanded fair pay, sick leave, and basic human dignity from their employers and from the government.
 
Unions have historically been a powerful means for disenfranchised groups to build coalitions and broaden their influence. But AAPIs have the lowest union membership rate at 8.4%, and all Americans of color are underrepresented at the bargaining table under Trump.
 
Workers across the country may be organizing for action, but minorities are being left out -- and all organized labor is threatened by Trump, whose election The Washington Post called “an extinction-level event for American labor.”
