Dear Friends,
After speaking with the President and Governor this week, the Major Disaster Declaration for the State of South Carolina has been amended to include 10 out of 11 counties in the 3rd District; Abbeville, Edgefield and Laurens Counties for Individual Assistance. Abbeville, Edgefield and Laurens Counties for debris removal and emergency protective measures (Categories A and B), including direct federal assistance under the Public Assistance program.
I am continuing to work with the Governor to get McCormick County included on the FEMA disaster assistance list.
We know that South Carolina's greatest natural resources are the people in our communities. The need in our communities has been so overwhelming, but so has the response from neighbors, churches, non-profits, and businesses.
I want to highlight the County Assistance Programs listed below that include dozens of non-profits and government agencies providing help with food, water, shelter, and many other needs that are available in each specific County.
