Last night I took the stage against my opponent Austin Theriault in a debate hosted and televised by the Bangor Daily News and CBS 13.
One thing is clear from the debate: My opponent and I both have records and they couldn’t be more different from each other. I have taken the tough votes to lift up Mainers, protect Social Security and Medicare, support our lobstermen and give our law enforcement the funding they need. Austin Theriault has continually voted along party lines against all of these things.
Whether it’s defending women’s reproductive choice, working to lower healthcare and energy costs and capping the price of insulin at $35, or voting for millions of dollars in funding to secure the border, I will always do what’s right for Mainers.
Meanwhile, my opponent was hand-picked by Washington Republicans and will do their bidding in Congress, just like he’s done in the Maine legislature. We deserve better than a politician who votes along party lines against what’s best for Mainers.
