John,

With just 31 days left until Election Day, we’re in the final stretch of one of the most important races in the country. Together, we have the chance to flip this seat and bring real change to Connecticut. The energy is building, but we need every ounce of support to cross the finish line.

There are only 5 Saturdays left — this is our time to step up! I’m asking you to volunteer, knock on doors, make calls, and help us reach every voter. Your effort will make the difference.

Let’s make history and #FlipTheFifth — together!

FARMINGTON – George Logan, Congressional candidate in Connecticut’s 5th Congressional District, released a new campaign ad about dangerous Washington policies making our communities and our country less safe:

“It is my sincere belief that we cannot grow our economy, ensure our kids get the best possible education, and enjoy the quality of life we all work so hard for, if we do not feel safe,” said Logan.

“Whether it’s the crisis at our border, the threat of gun violence in our cities or the opioid crisis gripping our communities, people feel less safe today than they have in years and that is a direct result of partisans in Congress, like the incumbent Congresswoman, who have voted against every measure to secure the border, and actively work to undermine law enforcement, even advocating to defund the police. Our newest campaign ad speaks directly to these issues and the failure to do anything to address the safety concerns of Americans here and around the country."

"Jahana Hayes admitted what we all already knew to be true:

'House Democrats are committed to putting politics over people.'

In the very same press conference, she

referenced recent tragic flooding that took place in Connecticut, but conveniently left out

how she put politics over people and partied it up at the Democratic National Convention while her constituents suffered.

We said it once and we’ll say it again: 'Jahana Hayes has always put politics over people and this most recent example is not shocking but particularly egregious. Instead of partying it up in Chicago, she should have been home assisting constituents. Shame on her for putting party over people.' – NRCC Spokeswoman Savannah Viar"

"The International Longshoremen’s Association agreed on Thursday to suspend a strike that closed down major ports on the East and Gulf Coasts. The move followed an improved wage offer from port employers.

The strike, which the dockworkers’ union began on Tuesday, threatened to weigh on the economy five weeks before national elections... In a statement, the union said that it had reached 'a tentative agreement on wages' and that its 45,000 members would go back to work, with the current contract extended until Jan. 15. The union said it was returning to the bargaining table 'to negotiate all other outstanding issues.' The alliance issued a similar statement."

"WASHINGTON — Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas set off outrage Wednesday when he told reporters that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) 'does not have the funds' to see Americans through the rest of this Atlantic hurricane season — after the agency spent more than $1.4 billion since the fall of 2022 to address the migrant crisis.

'We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,' Mayorkas said during a press gaggle on Air Force One en route to tour damage from Hurricane Helene in South and North Carolina.

'We are expecting another hurricane hitting,' he added. 'We do not have the funds. FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season and what — what is imminent.'"

"California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill Sunday that will bar local authorities from requiring photo ID to vote, which exceeds the state’s requirements.

California is one of 14 Democrat-run states that do not require any ID to vote, despite requiring it for many other purposes. Voters at polling places are checked off against voter rolls without further proof being required; voters who submit mail-in ballots must include their signatures on the envelopes that are checked by a machine against the signatures on file in voter registration records."
