Though COVID-19 has made it difficult to get out into the community, our work hasn’t stopped. While practicing social distancing, my team has continued our work on three key fronts: identifying resources for financial assistance, providing direct assistance to vulnerable populations, and sharing accurate, science-based information.

In recent weeks, we’ve focused on the following actions:

Connecting our constituents with necessary financial support by guiding them to small business loan opportunities, ensuring constituents receive unemployment checks, and identifying appropriate resources for financial challenges.
Providing direct assistance to our vulnerable populations, including fighting for expanding testing at nursing homes and working with advocacy groups to decrease the infection rate at Bon Air Juvenile Correction Center, one of the hardest hit facilities in the country.
Combating misinformation and cutting through the oversaturation of information with weekly, fact-based newsletters that have local, state, and national resources to help Virginians navigate this crisis.

This is a historic moment, and our Commonwealth will make it through by staying together and continuing to look out for each other. As our healthcare professionals and essential workers keep pushing forward, we will too.
