We just observed Wrongful Conviction Day, John.

It’s a time to highlight the shortcomings of the criminal legal system and the more than 200 people we've help free or exonerate.

We founded the Innocence Project in 1992 in an effort to free the innocent and prevent wrongful convictions. Since then, our team has helped to free or exonerate hundreds of wrongfully convicted people, pass transformative state laws and federal reforms, and advance the innocence movement.

Thanks to supporters like you, John, our work at the Innocence Project has changed lives — but even so, we’re still far from where we need to be if we want to create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice that work for everyone.

This day is a reminder that wrongful convictions are a symptom of a broken criminal legal system that must be fixed. That’s why we’ve set a goal to raise $20,000 before Oct. 6, and thanks to a generous donor, all gifts made today will be 2X-MATCHED.

In honor of Wrongful Conviction Day, will you DOUBLE your impact now to help us continue our fight to free the innocent and transform the legal system that could end wrongful convictions?

Please don’t delay. Your gift today will go twice as far, John — thank you.

P.S. Thanks to the generous support of John O'Farrell and Gloria Principe, all donations will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000.
