SIGN NOW: NO president is above the law >>
After losing the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump said “It doesn’t matter if you won or lost the election. You still have to fight like hell.” [1]
John, does this sound like an “official” act of the presidency to you?
This shocking quote comes from Special Counsel Jack Smith's newly unsealed evidence, which challenges the Supreme Court’s dangerous ruling on presidential immunity and confirms what we know: presidents shouldn’t have a blank check to try and overturn the will of the voters. [1]
Add your name if you agree: Attempting to overturn an election is not an “official” act of the president. No one is above the law, including Donald Trump.
Trump stands accused by a federal grand jury of his fellow Americans of serious crimes: including conspiracy to defraud the United States and to deprive the American people of our right to vote and have that vote counted.
But this year, the Supreme Court helped cover for Donald Trump – delaying accountability and granting presidents broad immunity for criminal acts committed in office.
That ruling only covered so-called “official acts” – and this new indictment and evidence makes it clear that that what Trump is being charged for doesn’t fit that bill.
Even still, the Supreme Court’s decision to cover for Donald Trump means that the American people won’t have any official verdict on his incitement of the January 6th attack before they vote this year, and that’s a travesty of justice.
Sign The Petition: Donald Trump must be held responsible for his attacks on our democracy to the fullest extent of the law.
John, I hope you’ll join me in affirming the principle that nobody – even a former president – is above the law.
Thanks for all you do,
