Programs and Grants for Local Government

Districts across Indiana can utilize state-funded grants and other programs to maintain and improve their communities. Highlighted below is
one of many grants and programs offered or administered by the state of Indiana.
Lake and River Enhancement ("LARE") Grant Program
This program assists soil and water conservation districts, watershed groups and lake associations in protecting and

Huntington Tails and Trails, YMCA Pumpkin Party
The Huntington Tails and Trails Festival is this Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Participants can run a 5K or one-mile race, both of which will start at Crestview Middle School and follow a
route through Erie Trail.
This is a dog-friendly event and everyone, including dogs, are encouraged to dress in costumes. There will be a human and dog costume contest, as well as food trucks, a performance from Summit City Disc Dogs, trick-or-treating and much more.

Those attending Tails and Trails are encouraged to stop by the Parkview Huntington YMCA's Pumpkin Party where guests can enjoy carnival games, costume and pumpkin carving contests, and activities for all ages, including dogs.

It's Deer Hunting Season, Here's What You Should Know
Deer hunting season in Indiana has begun, and it's important to know about the rules and regulations put in place by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources before you go.
Here are some of the rules and regulations for deer hunting season in Indiana:
- Various forms of deer hunting are possible from Sept. 15 - Jan. 31.
- Deer hunting hours can begin 30 minutes before sunrise and end 30 minutes after sunset.
- A hunting license is required when hunting on public or private land. Licenses can differ based on the type of hunting equipment used during season.
