Hi John -- It's DSCC Chair Sen. Gary Peters. I was on MSNBC with Lawrence O'Donnell recently, and just before he had me on, he pointed something out that's kept me up at night ever since:
"If Democrats don't win the Senate, a President Harris could be the first President to get zero judges confirmed."

There's a lot riding on our Senate majority, John -- especially when it comes to our courts.
Under Donald Trump, Republicans went the extra mile to appoint right-wing ideologues to lifetime positions on the federal bench. Ideologues who went on to overturn Roe v. Wade, grant Trump wide-ranging immunity from prosecution, and uphold extreme new laws like the GOP's abortion bans and voting restrictions.
They're not going to simply give up that ill-gotten power. In fact, Republicans are already signaling that if they flip the Senate red, they could dramatically break from past precedent and simply refuse to act on countless judicial nominees under a Harris administration. "We just wouldn't set them for a vote," is how one of them put it.
That's why it's so important that we band together at this critical moment and defend the Senate. By winning this thing again, we're ensuring that America has a chance to see fair and ethical courts in the future. With 32 days left to support our most vulnerable Democrats, we still have time to make that happen -- but not much.
