Robinson National Night Out

It was a great week back in TX-17! On Saturday, I attended National Night Out in Robinson, Texas, hosted by the Robinson Police Department. National Night Out is “America’s Night Out Against Crime.” This community event increases awareness about police programs, including drug convention, town watch, and other anti-crime efforts. The event is an opportunity for neighbors to come together to promote crime prevention. I enjoyed my time at National Night Out with the people of Robinson. Thank you to the Robinson Police Department for hosting this event and for all that you do to keep our community safe! I was proud to present the Robinson Police Department with a flag flown over the United States Capitol to thank them for their endeavors against crime in our community.

Also on last Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend the Baylor Bears football game against BYU. While my hometown Bears did not come away with a victory this time, I always enjoy getting to cheer them on. Game days are something truly special and it was a pleasure to spend some time at McLane Stadium. Thank you to Manny Ruiz of the Baylor University Board of Regents for hosting me!

Service Academy Nomination Applications

Applications to receive a nomination for appointment into a United States Service Academy from me will be closing on Thursday, October 10. Please be sure you have all the materials submitted by 5 pm on that date. One of the greatest privileges I have as a Member of Congress is getting to nominate the best and the brightest from TX-17 to attend a U.S. Service Academy.
