John,
As Ground Game and our progressive allies work to turn out the vote, we've been hit with state-sanctioned voter suppression, in the form of Attorney General Ken Paxton.
In recent months, AG Paxton sued Travis County, Bexar County, and Harris County to curtail voter registration programs. He raided Democratic organizers in the Rio Grande Valley for alleged “vote harvesting.” And he even investigated one of Ground Game’s coalition partners, JOLT, a Latino civic engagement organization, under the false pretense they helped non-citizens vote.
These lawsuits are a sign of Texas GOP desperation. They know how close we are to changing politics statewide.
Help Ground Game maximize voter turnout with a contribution of $25 or more today. We can’t let Ken Paxton stop our momentum.
John, Ground Game is building a massive coalition in Dallas to get out the vote in support of our marijuana reform ballot measure. In particular, we know that young voters, infrequent voters, and BIPOC voters are excited to vote for meaningful policy reform.
Ken Paxton is willing to break the rules and abuse his power to suppress our efforts and others on the ground mobilizing voters. Ground Game is working overtime between now and Election Day to let Texas voters know how important this election is.
Please chip in today. We have to do everything we can. Each new voter we reach could make the difference for Democrats across Texas.
Thank you for being with us in this fight,
Catina Voellinger (she/her/ella)
