Imagine you are there in the stadium on a picture-perfect family night. The added pageantry of an election year with the band playing the Star-Spangled Banner is a classic slice of American life.
You’re energized and wish you could charge onto the field behind the coach and his players, even though you know that football is purely a spectator sport. Clearly Democracy is not, and we can’t afford to have our voters on the sidelines at this pivotal moment in history. We need the same level of energy and excitement to make Team Pro-Democracy victorious at the ballot box!
Even if you’re not a sports fan, the football analogy to winning on November 5th makes sense. Your country needs you as much as a coach needs his team, so without exaggeration you cannot afford to sit this one out. So clear the bleachers, get off the bench – we need every voter to help carry the ball to victory and preserve our freedoms.
