Protecting the water
From Superior to Bad River, the 73rd is the Lake Superior watershed district. Stroud will partner with all water protectors in helping to ensure that we keep Lake Superior and the larger ecosystem safe from any threats. Protecting Lake Superior is her priority, and she’ll be a fierce advocate in the Capitol for our greatest freshwater resource.
Strengthening democracy
On her campaign website Stroud says: “I believe that no matter who we vote for, we’re all in this together, and we have to start acting like it. There’s too much at stake to give up on democracy.” With anti-democracy attacks already happening here, Stroud will be a steadfast champion for a robust, accessible democracy for everyone in Wisconsin.
Honoring sovereignty and opposing the Line 5 pipeline
Stroud has said time and time again protecting Lake Superior is her campaign’s number one goal. Line 5 is running through the Bad River Reservation and that’s part of the 73rd. Stroud is clear: “…Enbridge is trespassing. Bad River is an autonomous government. They have sovereignty over their own decisions. But the entire pipeline exists in ceded territory, and the treaties that our government signed require that we allow them to maintain their rights to hunt, fish and gather. This pipeline is a risk to the lake, and it’s a risk to treaty rights. It’s a moral and legal obligation that we live up to those promises.”
We’re excited to endorse Angela Stroud for Assembly District 73. We need your help to make sure people know about her and all of our endorsed candidates. Can you donate today to help make sure we meet our goals and finish these next few weeks as strong as we can?
Angela Stroud will be a force in Madison. With new voting maps in place, Wisconsinites now have an opportunity to make their voices heard and their votes count. With your help, we can protect Lake Superior and the Northwoods for generations.
