Bonta's legal war on energy companies will punish ordinary Californians

In the span of just over a year, California Attorney General Rob Bonta dropped a pair of lawsuits on energy producers.

In the first, he claimed it’s time to make oil companies pay for “engaging in a decades-long campaign of deception and creating statewide climate change-related harms.” It is one of more than 30 such lawsuits around the country.

The second action, filed Monday, sues ExxonMobil over the industry’s “deceptive public messaging regarding plastic recycling.”

Harris' farcical price control schemes

Vice President Kamala Harris is bringing that aphorism to life by putting price controls at the center of her economic agenda. Despite centuries of evidence that such controls invariably lead to shortages, rationing and general economic dysfunction, Harris thinks her price control scheme will work.

The plan by a group of San Francisco Bay Area venture capitalists to build an entirely new city on ranch land in Solano County between the Bay Area and Sacramento has become one of the most controversial housing plans in Northern California in years.

The East Solano Plan might be delayed, but the proposal sparked a necessary debate about building new cities and planned communities to meet market demand and offset California’s housing crisis.
