Vanessa Savidge, a registered nurse at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, landed her dream job in the nation’s largest children’s hospital. However, she soon discovered questionable practices that led her to speak out.

Her whistleblower efforts led to national attention to the issue of gender surgeries for children but have come at a great personal cost.
