Fall trout rainbow stocking has begun

The fall trout stocking schedule is here, bringing new fishing opportunities across the state.

Rainbow trout are being released statewide to enhance fishing opportunities this fall and winter. In addition to rainbow trout, Lake Ogallala will be stocked with thousands of cutbows — a cutthroat/rainbow trout hybrid — for anglers looking to catch a different species.

Nebraska state parks mark Color Blindness Awareness Month

During this International Color Blindness Awareness Month, Nebraska Game and Parks is launching its campaign to make the outdoors more enjoyable to those with color blindness. We are working to bring EnChroma color-blindness kits to parks across the state, and are seeking donations to help make this happen.

Youth pheasant season includes Special Youth Hunts

Help spark a lifetime of outdoor adventures for a young person — take them hunting during Nebraska's statewide youth pheasant, quail and partridge season on Oct. 19-20. To enhance youth hunting opportunities, Nebraska Game and Parks will release rooster pheasants at select locations, as well.
