I’m the only Democrat representing Kansas at the federal level — and that’s just one of the reasons why National Republicans and the Kansas GOP are working so hard to get me out. In 2018, when this district was represented by an entrenched Republican incumbent, I unseated him. In 2020, when everyone said my victory was a fluke and I faced nonstop attack ads, I won by even more. Then in 2022, when we faced even more attacks and pundits were writing us off, we buckled down and won. Again. This time around, National Republicans think they’ve got me. They think if they relentlessly come after my record as our representative, they can regain full control of Kansas at the federal level. But there’s too much on the line to let them succeed. Seriously, take a look at the platform the Kansas GOP put forward earlier this year, and you’ll see that it calls for banning same-sex marriage, taking away abortion rights, and blocking Medicaid expansion. And if we’re going to defeat them, then we need to spend every single day between now and Nov. 5 getting our message out — about all I’ve accomplished for Kansas and about the stakes of this election if we lose.
