The days ahead will be critical for Irish climate policy. Government formation talks have begun, and thanks to your efforts, meaningful climate ambition is on the agenda. But what will 7% emissions reductions per annum (the bare minimum we need to do) look like in practice? What does it mean for transport, homes and energy? How should agriculture and industry contribute? How can we ensure that the biodiversity crisis is addressed alongside climate breakdown? How do we make sure that it’s fair for everybody? And how should any economic stimulus package post-Covid 19 work for climate action too?
Let’s explore what needs to happen next in conversation with TDs directly. We’re hosting the second of our webinars today Wednesday with policy experts Professor John Sweeney, Dr. Cara Augustenborg and Oisin Coghlan. We need YOU to invite TDs to join us. We’ll have some short presentations, Q and A, and then an opportunity to talk to your TD directly in breakout rooms.
We'll provide the Zoom, and the experts, you bring your TD and your Tea, and we'll talk about what's important for climate action for the next Dáil.
